Nicked from this weeks BestAds! Great series of print ads done by Bloom in Dublin. “Pat the Baker, Ireland’s favourite bread, has launched via bloom, Dublin a new loaf especially made for toasting. Our target audience was Dublin commuters. The solution was to create portraits of famous Irish people using toast, for example the writers, Samuel Beckett, William Butler Yeats and Oscar Wilde.” view hi res more toast art!
Freaking awesome :D www.stealourideas.tumblr.com “This ambient idea for Altoids will challenge people to investigate their innate inquisitive nature at the risk of being crushed to death by a 2000 pound cliche. Those who muster up enough curiosity to push the giant red button will be handsomely rewarded with a sample package of Altoids Curiously Strong Mints.” hahahahahahahah “The fashion world takes itself way too seriously, but Diesel is an exception. They have done a remarkable job mixing humor and sexiness. ”You’ll never be this awesome.” is a confident and self-deprecative strategy that speaks to the unattainable beauty of the fashion […]
Obviously my coffees look ten thousand times better now, after making them for clients for nearly a year! haha. But I found this image on my computer from the time I spent my lunch break making stencils of the 303 logo (left) and others like smiley faces, swirls and flower prints. **Update** 25.01.09 JUST found this surfing the net for the latest… bahahaha
I’ve been sifting through a load of old print ads today, many dating back from the 1850’s! Some are hilarious, the copy they used is priceless.. one of my favourites for Palmolive Soap: “Palmolive’s Beauty Plan brings exciting complexion loveliness” … What the! Also, Lose weight with Aids!? Gold! Haha anyway, I came across a whole load of them for Kodak… …which reminded me of a page in one of Paul Arden‘s books.. I read both of his bestselling paperbacks, “Whatever you think, think the opposite”, and “It’s not how good you are, it’s how good you want to be”. […]
Woah, what a busy time of year! I’ve been so incredibly flat out I haven’t had time to relax.. until now.. :) Thank god for Christmas holidays! So, now I’m back into the swing of things, I can finally write about all those things I’ve been meaning to. Beginning with something cool I found surfing the net, a clever form of Advertising using bags, now colloquially dubbed “Bagvertising”. Some examples! People seemingly skipping rope with the corded handles of bags from YKM, a Turkish department store chain. When properly carried, this bag makes it look like you’re in your undies! […]
I love her work! When I’ve got my own house, I’m going to paint the insides like she’s done. Awesome.
Design: Lush Lawn and Property EnhancementThese envelope style business cards were letter pressed by hand and stuffed with grass seeds. So original, yet so simple it would be hard to forget! Design: Yuka SuzukiThis hair stylist used bobby pins attached to a business card to look like hair. I love this! The amount of times I have digged through my bag to find just one bobby pin! If I had one of these cards, it would be kept in my wallet, and every time I needed one I’d surely subconsciously have approving thoughts about the company. haha :P
